Instructions for Preparing and Using Glow Powder in Printing Paste

06 Nov 2025

Product Introduction

This product is made with iSuoChem's special glow pigment and a clear printing paste. The glow material stores light energy when exposed to light and slowly releases it in the dark. Using screen printing, you can print glow designs on fabrics and non-woven materials. Tests show that these prints can stand up to rubbing, washing, sun, and sweat. The product is safe, eco-friendly, and free from any harmful or radioactive substances.

A key feature of this product is that it only needs 10–30 minutes in sunlight or under a light to glow in the dark for over 12 hours. The glow starts bright and slowly becomes less bright over time. It can be recharged again and again by light, and lasts for more than 5 years.

How to Prepare the Printing Paste

1. Choosing the Glow Powder

We suggest using our water-based glow powder. It comes in different Particle sizes:

Particle Size Range (μm)

Notes

2-10μm

Fine Particle for detailed prints

5-15μm

Balanced detail and brightness

15-40μm

Good brightness with decent detail

25-35μm

Popular for general use

45-55μm

Brighter glow

55-75μm

High brightness

65-85μm

Very bright glow

150μm and above

Coarse Particles for special effects

Bigger Particles glow brighter but do not print as clearly.

2. Mixing the Printing Paste

Use a neutral or slightly alkaline clear printing paste (pH 7–9 works best). Add glow powder by weight, mix well at low speed (300–500 rpm is best). If it's too thick, add thinner to get the right consistency.

Mixing Ratios to Try:

Application Type

Glow Powder Percentage

Notes

Regular clothing prints

25%–30%

Good balance of brightness and print quality

Extra bright prints

35%–50%

Maximum glow effect

Fine or detailed patterns

20%–25%

Better for intricate designs

Helpful Tip: Print a layer of white paste first before printing the glow layer. This makes the glow much brighter because the white reflects more light.

3. Printing Pastes We Suggest

You can use:

• Nylon paste

• High-quality clear paste from Japan

• Stretchable clear paste from Japan

• Shiny paste from Hong Kong

Important Tips for Use

• Screen Mesh: Use 100–120 mesh screens. Too open a mesh will let too much paste through; too fine a mesh can block the glow effect.

• Print Thickness: Print at 0.2–0.3 mm thickness. Thinner prints will not glow as brightly.

• Drying: Let it air dry or dry at low heat (80–100°C). Do not use high heat.

• Curing: Heat at 130–150°C for 3–5 minutes for best results.

Friendly Reminder: Mix only what you need and use it right away. Do not store mixed paste for long. Keep unused paste in a sealed container and use within 24 hours.

Keeping the Glow Strong

To help the print keep glowing well over time:

• Let it get plenty of light often.

• Do not leave it in strong direct sun for too long.

• Wash with mild soap.

• Do not use bleach.
